I’m curious about social enterprises and what makes aid/philanthropy/charity/etc effective in the short and long term!
For example, I donate to Technoserve which helps people from underprivileged countries start and maintain their own for-profit businesses. Instinctively, giving people the tools and support to run a business sounds more effective than just giving donations. But I don’t actually know if it is, especially because it involves so many actors in multiple countries. Similar to international relations, wondering who can influence what to get which result haha 😂
